Jami Jacobson MHC-LP
During these unparalleled times, it is common to feel overwhelmed with intense emotions and find it difficult to stay motivated and hopeful.
I will assist you by getting you on a personalized path to better understand your emotions, to problem- solve, to work through trauma, to create motivation and purpose in your daily life, to help you break the cycles of depression and anxiety, to better communicate in your relationships, or to bring your ideal self to fruition. Whichever goals you wish to achieve, I am here to collaboratively work with you.
In session, I first seek to understand your point of view, your concerns, your goals and how you learn and work best. The modalities that I use to structure sessions include, but are not limited to: Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
I graduated from New York University with my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness in 2017, and have worked in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan with the community since my graduation. My roles have included Social Work and Counseling, which have provided me with a multi-faceted view of each person’s reality.
I have experience working with individuals, adolescents, couples, families, the LGBTQ+ community, those diagnosed with terminal illnesses, those struggling with substance abuse, and victims of domestic violence.
I am happy to set up a consultation with you to find out if we are a good fit, or to help connect you with others that are better suited to help you along your journey to recovery.
